A Virtual Worlds Training Day ran last year and was attended by over 40 UK Academics and Technicians. We plan to run a similar day in 2011 and will announce details here.

The ‘Upskilling’ Day is open to anyone working in Psychology and related fields who is interested in learning more and about problem-based learning or techniques for teaching and learning in virtual worlds. The project team are hosting the event for up to 30 delegates on Tuesday 7th April 2009, 10am – 4pm at University of Derby. The event is free to attend and buffet lunch will be provided. Registration is required.
We will be running a series of workshops, guest lectures and interactive training in problem-based learning methods in the 3D multi-user virtual world Second Life. No previous experience of Second Life or virtual worlds is required. You can register your own Second Life avatar here (recommended) or we can let you practice using one of ours for the duration of the event. Attendees working in the area of Psychology or related areas will also be invited to become a Mentee on the project to receive a free loan of virtual land to set-up educational developments and receive ongoing support.
Registration is now open. If you would like to attend this free event, please register by using the form below.
The next Training Day events will run in 2011
